Short Video History of Choir

Founded in 1959 and based in Senghenydd, South Wales, the Aber Valley Male Voice Choir is made up of 58 choristers at present. Led by our Conductor, J. Geraint Evans, BEM, we are one of Wales’ busiest choirs, performing across Britain and Europe.

We sing a wide range of music, including classic rock, hits from the West End, pieces from famous operettas, and, of course, traditional Welsh hymns. We love what we do and we are passionate about singing and having a fun time which is why we have performed over 1,000 concerts to date! Still, we don’t take ourselves too seriously – we’re just as happy singing in a hushed cathedral as we are outside Gregg’s on a bustling high street. Take a look at our “Events” page for our forthcoming engagements.

As well as promoting the honourable tradition of Welsh male voice, we are committed to helping good causes in our community. We have performed concerts for numerous charities, such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Velindre Cancer Centre and Bloodwise. Weddings, festivals and civic functions are all part of a day’s work for us, and moreover, we relish opportunities to perform outside of South Wales where we can reach new audiences.
